Caulfield Mount Herman was a recurring character on Season One of Scream Queens. He was introduced in Hell Week as a member of the Dickie Dollar Scholars fraternity. His arms were severed by the Red Devil in Chainsaw, and he was killed by Boone Clemens, as the Red Devil, in Seven Minutes in Hell.

He is portrayed by Evan Paley.

It is surmised that the character's name is an amalgamation of two real-life sources. His first name, Caulfield, is a nod to the iconic preparatory school dropout from the book Catcher in the Rye, whereas his middle and last name were lifted from the actual prep school, Mount Hermon. Reasons for this character's' name being chosen are unknown and still under investigation by fans of the show.

Biography

Hell Week

Caulfield is first introduced along with Earl Grey, Roger, and Dodger. They are searching for Boone to go to the White Stallion for some girls, but they later find him lying on the dinner table with his throat slit open.

Chainsaw

Caulfield is first seen attending the Dickie Dollar Scholars' meeting. Later, he is seen along his fellow frat brothers searching for the Red Devil on the campus streets. They damage property with baseball bats, thinking it's the Red Devil. Haplessly, the Dollar Scholars are confronted by two actual Red Devils wielding chainsaws. The Scholars proceed to attack them, but are easily defeated. Caulfield has both his arms sawed off by one of the Red Devils, and is knocked to the ground with his broken baseball bat.

Pumpkin Patch

When Dean Cathy Munsch, Gigi Caldwell, and Wes Gardner reunite the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority and the Dickie Dollar Scholars fraternity in the Kappa house, Caulfield is shown to be alive without his arms. He is later seen really mad when Dean Munsch cancels Halloween because the students are in danger of being attacked by the Red Devil.

Seven Minutes in Hell

Caulfield's death

Caulfield and the other Dickie Dollar Scholars decide to have panty raid on Kappa House. On their way there, Chad receives a phone call from Chanel, who fears the Red Devil is stalking her and the other Kappas and wants him to come over anyway. Chad and the other Dickie Dollar Scholars pick up a ladder and use it to get into the second floor window. The others all get up the ladder safely, but the Red Devil appears before Caulfield can escape, pulls the ladder down with Caulfield on it, and kills him, by decapitating his head with an axe.

Black Friday

Caulfield appears, along with the rest of the deceased Dickies, in a flashback to when Pete Martínez tried to pledge Dickie Dollar Scholars. Later on, when Chanel is listing the victims of the Red Devil, she mentions Caulfield, referring to him as "Chad's irritating armless friend".

The Final Girl(s)

Chad changed the name of Dickie Dollar Scholars to The Dickie Dollar Earl Grey Roger Dodger Caulfield Charity Foundation, in memory of his fallen Dickie brothers. At the end of the episode, Caulfield is listed on a memorial plaque donated by the Radwell family for the campus, however, his name is misspelled as "Caufield".

Caulfield is fratty, average and tough. He is quite douchey and is always on his agenda to follow Chad on what he does, when Caulfield gets his arms chopped off by the Red Devil with a chainsaw he isn't in pain or crying in fear, he still gets up on his feet and still parties and doesn't let anything stop him. He is very dedicated to Dickie Dollar Scholars and will always help Chad and will even sacrifice his life for him, he likes to speak his mind most of the time and talk about boobs with Boone.

Caulfield's appearance consists of neatly combed up brown hair, along with tight green jackets with white long sleeve shirts underneath and cream colored pants.

Caulfield, Chad, Earl and Roger all go attempt to save the Kappa girls who are trapped inside the house by bringing a ladder and using it to climb to the second floor window. Chad, while on top of the ladder, sees that the Red Devil is heading towards the threesome still below. Earl and Roger immediately get up the ladder to enter the Kappa window to safety, but unfortunately, since Caulfield has no arms, it's difficult for him to get up the ladder. He slowly attempts to climb it, but the Red Devil quickly pulls it down with Caulfield still on it, and it falls to the ground. As Caulfield lies on the ground on his backside unable to defend himself, the Red Devil pulls out an axe and chops him in the stomach twice and then slices his head off as the others watch in horror.
